Meet Steffen!
Steffen Gillom
Dr. Steffen Gillom holds a BS in Political Science (Pre-Law) from Southern IL University Edwardsville, an MA in Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation from the School of International’s Training, a post-masters certificate in Couples and Family Therapy and a Ph.D. in Couples and Family Therapy from Antioch University New England.
Dr. Gillom currently works as a psychotherapist, conflict resolution specialist, professional mediator, DEI consultant, and adjunct professor. He is also a proud AmeriCorps VISTA service Alum, former commentator for Vermont Public Radio (VPR) and Justice of the Peace in Windham County Vermont.
Dr. Gillom is passionate about increasing awareness concerning disability rights/accessibility, providing quality mental health services to communities of color, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized people. He greatly enjoys working with organizations - big and small - to increase their multicultural competency on all eco-systemic levels. He was awarded Vermont Business Magazines 40 under 40 ‘Rising Star’ Award in 2019 for his contributions to the state of Vermont and was later elected as a Delegate for Senator Bernie Sanders.
Dr. Gillom also participates in a plethora of pro-bono work, where he uses his professional skills to give-back and enhance capacity in his community. Most recently, the bulk of this work has been via the NAACP, where he currently serves as President of the Windham County Vermont Branch of the NAACP. Via his presidency, Steffen plays an influential role in local and state-wide change by working to raise awareness in several justice areas and influencing the crafting of policy to includes the voices and perspectives of the most marginalized.
